| Abstract | |
Early orthodontic intervention is often initiated in the developing dentition to promote favourable developmental changes. Interceptive orthodontics can eliminate or reduce the severity of a developing malocclusion, the complexity of orthodontic treatment, overall treatment time and cost. A 7-year-old female child reported to the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Kantipur Dental College with the chief complaint of malaligned tooth on lower left back teeth region. Clinical and radiographic examination revealed premature loss of the mandibular left second molar and subsequent drifting of the permanent mandibular left first molar, resulting in severe space deficiency for lower left second premolar. |
